Microcement for floors and walls
Microcement is a continuous coating 2 to 3 mm thick that is applied over what you already have—tiles, terrazzo, concrete, or plaster—without the need for construction work or debris. It creates a seamless surface on floors, walls, bathrooms, countertops, and stairs.
What a microcement system really includes

What substrates can it be applied on
- ✓ Tiles and stoneware: Yes, provided the pieces are well adhered. Tap them: if they sound hollow, they need to be repaired first.
- ✓ Concrete and terrazzo: Ideal substrate.
- ✓ Plaster and plasterboard: Yes, on walls, with a specific primer for absorbent substrates.
- ✓ Underfloor heating: Compatible, but the pre-heating cycle must be followed as indicated by the manufacturer.
- ✓ With rising damp, no. The source must be resolved first; otherwise, the microcement will lift.
Application, drying times, and maintenance
- 1 → Allow 4 or 5 days of work due to the layering and drying times. It's not a one-afternoon renovation.
- 2 → It is applied with a trowel in thin layers, sanding between coats. The result largely depends on skill: if you are not experienced, try it first in an hidden area.
- 3 → The substrate's expansion joints must be respected: if you cover them, the crack will reappear on top.
- 4 → Wait for the sealer to fully cure before walking on or wetting the surface. This usually takes around 7 days.
- 5 → Clean with neutral soap. No ammonia, bleach, or abrasive products: they damage the sealer.
