About the product

PAVIFER 350 is Ferroluz's 100% solids, 2-component, solvent-free sanitary epoxy paint — the reference coating for potable water tanks, wastewater, food industry, and sectors where sanitary regulations and chemical resistance are non-negotiable requirements. Being 100% solids, it contains no solvent in its formulation: the applied thickness is the final dry thickness, with no shrinkage. Up to 250 wet microns in a single coat. High resistance to solvents, mineral oils, and chemicals in general. Mixing ratio by volume 1.5:1 (component A:B). Available in 4 kg and 15 kg.

For which facilities and uses is it ideal?

  • ✓ Potable water tanks and cisterns — certified for contact with drinking water
  • ✓ Wastewater tanks and treatment plants
  • ✓ Food industry — wineries, cheese factories, slaughterhouses, packaging plants
  • ✓ Floors and walls of industrial kitchens, hospitals, and health centers
  • ✓ Pharmaceutical plants and laboratories with extreme hygiene requirements
  • ✓ Tanks for compatible chemicals and areas exposed to solvents and oils

Why choose PAVIFER 350

  • 100% solids — solvent-free, no shrinkage — unlike conventional epoxies containing 20-40% solvent, PAVIFER 350 contains no solvent; the applied wet thickness is exactly the final dry thickness; it does not shrink or lose volume upon curing
  • Suitable for potable water tanks and food use — formulated to meet the sanitary requirements for facilities in contact with human drinking water and food; the use of solvent-free epoxies is mandated by regulations in many of these applications
  • Up to 250 wet microns in a single coat — very high film thickness in a single application; reduces the number of coats needed and the total project time; ideal for tanks where access is limited
  • High chemical resistance — solvents, oils, and chemicals — the 100% solids epoxy creates a completely cross-linked membrane of very high density; chemical resistance is superior to solvent-based epoxies of the same dry thickness
  • Wide recoat window — 20 hours minimum, 7 days maximum — the recoat window of up to 7 days allows work to be phased without the need for sanding between coats; if the maximum is exceeded, sanding is required to ensure adhesion between layers
  • Applicable by airless, brush, or roller — application versatility; airless allows for maximum performance on large surfaces; brush and roller for repair work or hard-to-reach areas

Preparation of the mixture

2-component system — mandatory mixing before application

Mixing ratio by volume: 1.5 parts of component A per 1 part of component B (1.5:1)

Mixing: add the hardener (component B) to the base (component A) and mix mechanically for 2–3 minutes until a completely homogeneous mixture is obtained

Pot life: work within the pot life indicated in the technical data sheet — once the reaction begins, the viscosity increases and the product cannot be applied

Component A and component B must be stored separately until mixing

How to apply — in 4 steps

  1. Prepare the substrate: clean, dry, and free of dust, grease, oil, and loose particles. Concrete must be cured (minimum 28 days). Abrade or shot blast to maximize adhesion. In tanks, ensure there is no residual moisture.
  2. Mix the components: 1.5:1 ratio by volume. Mechanical mixing for 2–3 min. Work within the pot life indicated in the technical data sheet.
  3. Apply with a brush, roller, or airless spray gun in one or several coats until the dry thickness required by regulations or the project is reached. Up to 250 wet microns per coat.
  4. Recoating: minimum 20 hours, maximum 7 days at 20°C. If the maximum is exceeded, sand between coats. Clean tools with Thinner solvent before curing.

Do not apply at temperatures below +10°C or on substrates with surface moisture. Do not apply with relative humidity above 85%.

PAVIFER 350 vs PAVIFER 340 — which to choose?

PAVIFER 350: 100% solids, solvent-free — for strict sanitary use (potable water, food), maximum chemical resistance, and projects with rigorous regulations. PAVIFER 340: 2-component water-based epoxy — for industrial floors, schools, hospitals; easier to apply, no ventilation requirements due to absence of organic solvents.

Key precautions

2K product — always mix both components before applying; never apply separately. Do not exceed a 7-day recoat window without sanding between coats. Use appropriate PPE during mixing and application. Consult the full technical data sheet before use.

Frequently asked questions

Is it certified for potable water tanks?+
PAVIFER 350 is specifically formulated for use in potable water tanks and meets the technical requirements for this application. For projects with specific certification requirements (WRAS in the UK, ACS in France, KTW in Germany, or other local regulations), please consult us with your project requirements — we can provide you with available technical documentation.
How many coats do I need for a water tank?+
For potable water tanks, a total dry thickness of 250–500 microns is usually recommended, which is equivalent to 1 or 2 coats of PAVIFER 350 at maximum thickness. Project regulations may specify the minimum required thickness. As a guide: 1 coat at 250 wet microns = 250 dry microns (being 100% solids). Consult us with the tank dimensions and project requirements to calculate the exact consumption.
How many kg do I need for a X m² tank?+
With a yield of 4–5 m²/kg per coat, the formula is: m² to be treated ÷ 4.5 (average yield) × number of coats = kg needed. Example: a 50 m² tank in 2 coats = 50 ÷ 4.5 × 2 = approximately 22 kg. The 15 kg format at €409 is the most economical per kilo for large projects. For larger tanks requiring several buckets, contact us for a project quote.
