Certified Neutral Silicone for Truly Moving Joints
Pattex SL 650 Solyplast is a single-component oximic neutral silicone sealant that cures with atmospheric moisture, transforming into a silicone rubber with lasting mechanical properties. It is formulated for expansion and connection joints in construction, industry, and carpentry, with a movement capability of ±25% and primerless adhesion to most construction substrates.
NEUTRAL, NON-ACETIC: does not smell like vinegar or attack substrates. This means it can be used on concrete, marble, stone, steel, and anodized aluminum without risk of corrosion or staining, something conventional acetic silicones do not allow.

Where to use it
Sealing of glass and laminated glass, joints between prefabricated and modular elements, expansion and connection joints, joints between partitions, perimeter seals in aluminum, wood, or PVC carpentry, and sealing of conduits and pipes.
How to apply
- Clean the substrate with a cloth moistened in alcohol or acetone and immediately dry with a clean cloth.
- Size the joint: minimum section 5 x 5 mm. Above 12 mm wide, the depth should be half the width. Use a backing rod.
- Cut the nozzle to the size of the bead and apply, filling the joint completely.
- Remove excess with a spatula and smooth with soapy water before skin formation (10-15 min).
- Clean tools with solvent before it cures. Once cured, it can only be removed with a cutter.
Precautions
Not suitable for contact with food, beverages, or animal feed.
May stain very porous substrates, especially in large quantities.
Do not use in contact with rubbers (plasticizer migration).
Slight surface yellowing may appear with low solar irradiation.
Which Pattex sealant do you need?
Does the joint need to be painted? — SP 101 Original. SL 650 is not paintable.
Structural glazing? — SL 690, specifically formulated for that application.
Mounting without fasteners? — SP 101 Instant Tack, with immediate grab.
Joint not to be visible? — SP 101 Transparent.
