About the product
Titan Oxiron Forja is a high-solids metallic anti-corrosion enamel from the Oxiron range with a forged-look finish, formulated with high-quality alkyd resins for direct application on iron and steel without prior priming or preparation. Its characteristic texture reproduces the rough metallic effect of wrought iron, giving gates, railings, doors, and outdoor furniture an artisanal forged appearance with maximum anti-corrosion protection. Featuring intermixable and highly lightfast colors, ample working time for easy touch-ups, and excellent resistance to weathering, rain, and humidity. Available in 7 colors and 750ml and 4L formats.
Which surfaces and projects is it ideal for?
- ✓ Iron and steel gates, grilles, and fences with a forged finish — new or for maintenance
- ✓ Wrought iron staircase and balcony railings
- ✓ Metal doors, gates, and exterior fences
- ✓ Lampposts, posts, and metal urban furniture
- ✓ Cranes, bridges, and industrial metal structures
- ✓ Metal garden furniture requiring renovation with a decorative forged effect
- ✓ Any iron or steel element where anti-corrosion protection + decorative forged finish is desired without prior steps
Why choose Titan Oxiron Forja
- ✓ Direct application on iron and steel without priming — the high-solids formulation with special alkyd resins creates the anti-corrosion layer directly on the metal; it eliminates the priming step and halves the application time compared to conventional two-coat systems
- ✓ Metallic forged-look finish — authentic rough texture — special metallic pigments create a characteristic texture that imitates the finish of artisanal wrought iron; a deep visual effect with veins and relief that hides imperfections and marks on the base metal
- ✓ High solids — greater protection with fewer coats — the high solids content ensures a thick dry film that provides greater anti-corrosion protection than conventional enamels; one or two coats are sufficient for long-lasting and complete protection
- ✓ Great adhesion on rusted metal — no need to remove all rust down to bare metal; simply remove poorly adhered rust and apply directly; ideal for maintaining old gates or structures with superficial oxidation
- ✓ Ample working time — facilitates touch-ups — the alkyd formulation with controlled slow drying gives more time to work the product and make touch-ups, especially useful on surfaces with complex profiles such as gates and railings with ornaments
- ✓ Intermixable and highly lightfast colors — the 7 colors in the Forja range are compatible with each other and mix perfectly to achieve intermediate shades; high-solidity pigments ensure that the color does not fade with prolonged sun exposure outdoors
- ✓ Excellent weather resistance — formulated for permanent outdoor exposure; resists rain, humidity, temperature changes, and freeze/thaw cycles without cracking or flaking

How to apply — in 4 steps
- Prepare the surface: remove loose rust, peeling paint, and loose particles with a wire brush, sandpaper, or grinder. There is no need to reach bare metal — the surface just needs to be firm and free of active flaking rust. Degrease with mineral spirits or solvent to remove oils and greases. Dry completely before applying.
- Prepare the product: shake the can well before use — metallic pigments tend to settle. For brush and roller, apply directly without diluting. For airless spray gun, dilute a maximum of 5–10% with Titan mineral spirits.
- Apply with a natural bristle brush or foam roller following the direction of the metal profile. For gates with ornaments, a short, dense bristle brush better distributes the product in the crevices. Apply in thin, even coats, taking advantage of the ample working time for touch-ups. The forged texture develops during drying — do not rework areas that are already dry.
- Allow to dry: touch dry in 4–5 hours at 23°C. Recoat after 24 hours. The final forged texture is fully visible after complete drying. Clean tools with Titan mineral spirits immediately after use.
Do not apply at temperatures below +5°C or above +35°C, or in rain or with relative humidity above 85%. In low temperature conditions, drying slows down significantly.

Forged vs. Smooth Satin vs. Blued — which to choose?
Forged: rough metallic texture, the classic finish for gates and ornamental elements — the most decorative. Smooth Satin: smooth and glossy finish, the most resistant and easy to clean — ideal for industrial structures. Blued: deep metallic blued effect, the most exclusive for high-end design elements.
Which format to choose?
750ml: for a small gate, a railing, or specific elements — covers between 6 and 9 m² in two coats. 4L: the best price/liter for complete projects — a large gate, an entire staircase, or several areas in the same project; covers between 32 and 48 m² in two coats.
Application conditions and limitations
Do not apply at temperatures below +5°C or above +35°C, or in rain or with relative humidity above 85%. Do not apply on greasy surfaces without prior degreasing. In the presence of very advanced active rust (deep corrosion with loss of section), clean down to bare metal before applying. Do not over-dilute — excessive dilution reduces film thickness and anti-corrosion protection. Flammable product — keep away from heat sources during application and drying.
