Note: HEMPEL'S THINNER 08880 For professional use only. HEMPEL paints are produced and supplied in such a way that dilution with solvent is usually not necessary, provided it is well mixed/stirred. However, if the paint layer to be applied is to be thin (for example, as a sealing coat) or if the paint has become too thick, i.e. in cold environments, the HEMPEL solvent indicated on the product's technical data sheet can be added to obtain a better consistency more suitable for application. As a general rule, dilution with solvent should be kept to the minimum that ensures the quality of the paint job is not adversely affected by excessive solvent release. However, if the application is to take place at high temperatures (ambient and/or steel), dilution with solvent may even, beyond the limits mentioned in the technical data sheet, be exceptionally necessary in order to avoid overspray and poor film formation. HEMPEL solvents are blended to give the best results in relation to the application. In some cases they can be replaced by ordinary solvents. As these products are beyond our control, we decline any responsibility for the results obtained. In each case, the respective technical data sheets of the products - when possible - as well as the application instructions should be consulted.
