Hempel primer undercoat 13201 is a quick-drying urethane alkyd primer with zinc phosphate for anti-corrosion protection of steel and wood sealing. Quick-drying primer with high covering power. Provides an excellent base for repainting with one-component finishes on all types of substrates (including steel).
HEMPEL'S PRIMER UNDERCOAT 13201 is a high-opacity, quick-drying primer and base paint. It provides durability and stability to the surface being prepared for the application of one-component topcoats.

Fields of application:
As a quick-drying primer with high covering power for the protection of steel and wood indoors and outdoors. Applicable above the waterline. Not recommended for immersion. Can be recoated with alkyd systems (HEMPALUX, MULTICOAT, and HEMPALIN). Suitable for use on fiberglass, wood, and steel. Surface preparation:
Preparation: Ensure that all surfaces are clean, dry, and grease-free. Clean the surface and remove any oil and grease residues with a suitable detergent and sand with dry abrasive paper. Carefully remove dust with fresh water. Untreated surface: Fiberglass: Sand and remove all dust. New wood: Sand and remove all dust. Saturate the clean, dry surface with a suitable wood treatment and allow it to dry. Steel: Remove salt and other contaminants with high-pressure fresh water. Remove rust and loose material by abrasive blasting or mechanical cleaning. Remove residues. Previously treated surface: Sand, clean, and dry the surface.Product application:
Method: Touch up exposed areas to equalize film thickness when the surface is visibly dry. Previously treated surface: Apply two coats of the product. Wood: Apply a first coat of the product diluted with the specified product. HEMPEL'S THINNER: max. 10%. Finally, apply 2 coats of the product. Fiberglass/Steel: Apply two coats of the product. Add solvent to aid application, if necessary: max. 5%. For a smooth surface, it is recommended to sand between coats (remove all dust residues). Overcoat with chosen topcoat.Application conditions:
The surface must be completely clean and dry at the time of application, and the temperature must be above the dew point to avoid condensation. The water content of the wood should not exceed: 16%. Do not apply in direct sunlight.
