About the product
Osaka Damasco Velvet Stucco is a modern metallic decorative coating, like pearlescent silk or velvet stucco, very versatile and multi-purpose, offering maximum luxury and elegance. It can be easily applied with a roller and trowel or directly with a trowel. The necessary materials are the Damasco colorable neutral base, which contains metallic particles and technical fiber, the colorant to achieve the desired color, and a roller and trowel for application. The trowel can be plastic or steel; in both cases, it must have rounded edges to comb the product and orient the fibers to achieve chiaroscuro effects, accentuate highlights, and create a silky feel. Its consistency allows the product to be applied with a roller (drip-free) to speed up product application to the surface. It has a prolonged open working time (depending on temperature, humidity, and substrate condition) which allows the surface to be combed and retouched while wet to even out areas and hide joints and seams. Do not apply or store below 5ºC.
Wall preparation
Damasco Velvet Stucco Effect is a thin-layer coating with a velvet finish, so it requires a well-prepared smooth wall to fully showcase its splendor. For old, porous, or textured walls, the surface must be plastered and sanded until smooth. Then, pores should be filled and the surface consolidated with a nanometric sealer such as Osaka Sealer-Fixer. We recommend priming with one or two coats of Sublime white (as is or diluted by 20%) as an anchoring bridge between the wall and the finish. Allow 8 hours drying time between coats. Sublime white primer is a highly washable paint but not 100% sealing. This ensures optimal adhesion of Damasco and further extends the open working time to retouch the surface repeatedly if necessary. In summer, this is a very important relief when applying to large areas.
Coloring
Damasco Velvet Stucco Effect is a neutral SILVER base that can be applied as is (silver finish) or colored to obtain an infinite number of different colors and shades. There is also a ready-to-use GOLD color. The appearance of Damasco is that of a pearlescent semi-liquid paste containing metallic pigments. It can be applied as is or colored with any of Osaka's colorants (Essences, Toner) or with a tinting machine (max. 5% machine colorant by volume). Choose the color you like best from the catalog and note the indicated colorant and dosage, for example, 25 milliliters of Essence 521 in 2.5 liters of Damasco, or a Toner number 3 in 2.5 liters of Damasco. For Essence colorant, extract the indicated milliliters with a syringe if less than 25 milliliters are indicated. For Toner colorant, you can refer to the scale on the bottle and add it whole, three-quarters, half, or a quarter.
