About the product
Solvent-based invisible consolidant made from an organic silicic acid ester, to reinforce porous mineral surfaces (cement mortar, cellular concrete, natural and artificial stone, etc.), maintaining their original appearance.
PROPERTIES
Allows the substrate to breathe while maintaining its natural appearance, high penetration power into all common building materials, high durability with excellent aging resistance due to the formation of silica on the reactive groups of the substrate, leaves no film on the surface.
APPLICATIONS
For the consolidation of porous surfaces such as cement mortar, cellular concrete, limestone, calcareous stone, sandstone or artificial stone, fiber cement, etc., maintaining their natural appearance. For indoor and outdoor use.
TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS
Finish: transparent (non-film-forming).
Penetration: excellent.
Viscosity: 15 +/- 5" F-4 (Ford cup #4) at 23 +/- 8ºC (ASTM D-1200).
Density: 0.92 +/- 0.05 gr/cc (UNE-EN-ISO 2811-1).
Dust dry: approximately 1 hour.
Total drying: 3-5 days, variable depending on weather conditions.
Recoating: Wet on wet.
Yield: 0.3-5 lt/m² (Depending on the condition and absorption of the substrate, a preliminary test is recommended).
Thinner: Thinner 333.
Shelf life in container: more than 1 year in original sealed container.
Tools: Clean with Universal Thinner.
SURFACE PREPARATION
This product is only applicable on vertical or steeply sloping surfaces. Substrates must be dry and sound:
For new masonry, wait 28 days before applying the consolidant. After rain, wait at least 48 hours before applying the consolidant. If the facade is cleaned with pressurized water, wait at least 10 days before applying the consolidant. Always brush off loosely adhering areas, powdery areas, etc. and clean dirty surfaces. If the substrate has old paint, remove it completely before applying the consolidant.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
The first coat of this product is applied diluted 50% with Thinner 333, as a primer. Then, it is applied wet on wet, as is, until saturation. Any excess product must be removed immediately, otherwise, white veils or crusts may appear. It is applied with a brush or airbrush gun. It should always be applied uniformly over the entire surface, to avoid the appearance of stains.
RECOMMENDATIONS
We recommend performing a preliminary test to determine the necessary amount of Consolidant, for this the wet on wet substrate should be saturated until it no longer absorbs more product. Always apply on completely dry substrates. Apply at temperatures above 5ºC and with relative humidity below 85%. Never apply in rainy weather, or on overheated surfaces or with morning dew. A minimum waiting time of 10 days is recommended before proceeding with waterproofing. If repair mortars or covering paints are applied, a minimum waiting time of 3 weeks is recommended.
PRESENTATION
Colors: Colorless.
STORAGE
Storage time of more than one year in its original, tightly closed container, protected from the elements (covered and at a temperature between 5 and 35ºC).
SAFETY INFORMATION
During application, it is advisable to wear a mask and safety glasses. Keep the product out of the reach of children. In case of contact with eyes, wash with plenty of clean water. For more information, consult the product safety data sheet.
