About the product
The HORMICEL Autoclaved Aerated Concrete Block is an autoclaved cured masonry unit with a vertical joint. It is a 100% mineral, lightweight, and large-format material used for building the enclosure, facade, and load-bearing wall with a single leaf, complying with the CTE (Technical Building Code) for thermal and acoustic insulation and fire protection without additional layers.
Insulates, lightens the structure by up to 60%, and is fire resistant (Class A1). Large units = faster construction, fewer joints, and less foundation work.

Why build with HORMICEL autoclaved aerated concrete
- ✅ Thermal insulation with λ from 0.09 W/m²K.
- ✅ Non-combustible Class A1: EI-120 (7.5 cm) · EI-180 (10 cm) · EI-240 (≥15 cm).
- ✅ Complies with CTE with single leaf: load, facade, and fire compartmentalization.
- ✅ Lightweight: reduces the weight of walls and slabs by up to 60%.
- ✅ Can be cut, chased, and drilled with hand tools.
- ✅ 100% mineral and recyclable; regulates indoor humidity (35–60%).
Applications
Load-bearing walls and single-leaf facade enclosures, retaining walls and subterranean structures, and fire compartmentalization. Suitable for concrete, steel, precast, timber, and masonry construction.

Length 600 mm and height 250 mm for all formats. Fire reaction A1 · Shrinkage 0.2 mm/m. Each pallet includes a single size. For thin partitions (50/75/100 mm), consult the Partition product.
Material for professional use. It is laid with HORMICEL thin-bed adhesive mortar, not traditional mortar. Confirm thickness and density according to the structural calculation of the project.
Frequently asked questions
What thickness do I need?
For enclosures and load-bearing walls, 200–350 mm is commonly used. The structural calculation and the CTE requirements for your area will determine the final thickness.
How is it bonded?
With HORMICEL thin-bed adhesive mortar, applied with a notched trowel. The precision of the block allows for 1–3 mm joints.
- HORMICEL adhesive mortar — for thin bed laying.
- U-block — for bond beams and lintels.
- HORMICAL mortar — for rendering.
