SURFACE PREPARATION
New unpainted surfaces.
For cement mortars and concrete, wait 4 weeks for complete curing, clean any efflorescence and release agents, remove dust and loose parts, cover cracks, etc., and apply Acrylic Sealer Primer. For CE marking: Apply the Acrylic Sealer Primer diluted: 1:1 with water with a coverage of 6m2/lt of the diluted product.
Already painted surfaces.
If old paints are in poor condition or poorly adhered, they should be completely removed with a pressure water jet, allowed to dry, and Acrylic Sealer Primer applied. If the paints are in good condition and shiny, they should be dulled to open the pores and check the paint's adhesion.
Surfaces with mold and algae: (black and green stains).
Remove them by vigorously scrubbing the stains with a brush, using diluted strong water for cleaning. Check for slopes to prevent water pooling. If there are cracks, hollows, etc., on the surface, they should be filled beforehand and allowed to dry. The moisture content of the surface to be coated must be checked. If the surface to be coated has moisture problems due to leaks or a moisture content higher than 4%, the product should not be applied. Once the surface is in good condition, apply a coat of our Acrylic Sealer Primer on cementitious, asphaltic, or bituminous substrates and Blatepox Primer Antioxidant on metal substrates to seal the substrate and increase the adhesion of the waterproofing paint. On ceramic substrates, apply Blatem Adhesion Plus. Once the Blatepox Primer Antioxidant has been applied, it must be covered with the waterproofing paint between 12 and a maximum of 24 hours.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
On very absorbent surfaces, dilute the first coat with 50% potable water, then apply subsequent coats of the undiluted product in crossed directions. If the substrate has specific problems such as cracks, lack of adhesion, etc., a first coat should be applied, and while still tacky, a fiberglass mesh should be laid before continuing to apply the crossed coats. Apply with a brush, roller, or airless spray gun.
Dilution: brush and roller 0-5%, spray gun 5-15% with potable water.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Do not paint in rainy weather or with temperatures below 5ºC or strong wind. Do not apply the product on surfaces exposed to strong sunlight. Stir the contents of the container until perfectly homogeneous. Avoid exposing containers to both high and low temperatures. For good product preservation, we recommend applying a maintenance coat approximately 5 years after its initial application.
