About the product
Mora Aceite Cerámicas is a high-penetration protective treatment specifically formulated for rustic ceramic and natural stone floors and coverings, as well as other porous materials. Ready to use, undiluted, it seals the material's pores from within, intensifies its natural tone with a permanent wet look effect, and creates a protective barrier against oil, water, grease, and daily dirt stains. With waxes incorporated into the formulation, the finish is wear-resistant and washable without flaking or requiring subsequent maintenance on interior floors. Available in matte and gloss finishes and in formats from 1L to 20L.
What surfaces and projects is it ideal for?
- ✓ Baked clay, terracotta, and rustic floors that need stain protection without losing their natural character
- ✓ Hydraulic mosaic — seals pores and prevents pigment detachment when cleaned
- ✓ Natural stone (travertine, slate, sandstone, limestone) on floors, stairs, and interior coverings
- ✓ Exposed brick that needs protection without covering the texture
- ✓ Aged or rustic marble where the goal is to enhance the tone without an artificial shine
- ✓ Renovations of historic floors or new constructions that require durable, low-maintenance protection
- ✓ Terracotta and artisan ceramics in high-traffic areas such as kitchens, hallways, and entrances
Why choose Mora Aceite Cerámicas
- ✓ Permanent wet look effect — permanently intensifies the color and visual depth of the material, as if it were always freshly wet; the tone stabilizes upon drying and does not return to its original dull appearance
- ✓ Total anti-stain protection against oils, greases, and food — the oil penetrates the pores and creates a barrier that prevents liquids and greases from penetrating the material; stains remain on the surface and are cleaned with water and detergent
- ✓ Water-repellent — repels water — water beads on the treated surface without penetrating, preventing moisture, efflorescence, and deterioration from wetting/drying cycles in porous materials
- ✓ No flaking, no subsequent maintenance — the protection ages with the material without peeling or cracking; once correctly applied to interior floors, it does not require periodic reapplication
- ✓ Waxes incorporated into the formulation — provide additional resistance to wear from foot traffic, scuffs, and frequent washing; the finish maintains its appearance even in high-traffic areas
- ✓ Conventional cleaning after treatment — once cured, the treated floor is cleaned exactly like conventional stoneware: water with neutral detergent, mop or floorcloth; no special products are needed
- ✓ Ready to use — no preparation — shake and apply directly; no dilution or mixing required; the consistency is formulated to optimally penetrate porous pavements with a brush or fine foam roller
Compatible surfaces and materials
How to apply — in 4 steps
- Prepare the surface and allow for curing times: the surface must be clean, dry, and free of dust, grease, or cement residue. For new construction, wait 30 days in summer and 60 days in winter before applying. If installed with tile adhesive, wait at least 4-5 days after final cleaning before treatment. After any water cleaning, allow 15 days in summer and 30 days in winter to dry. For very dirty surfaces or efflorescence, clean with a suitable degreasing product and rinse thoroughly.
- First impregnation coat: shake the container well. Apply with a brush or fine foam roller, distributing evenly and ensuring the product penetrates the pores. The material will visibly absorb the oil — the wet look effect appears gradually. Let dry for 2-4 hours depending on ambient temperature.
- Finishing coats (3-4 coats in total): apply 3 or 4 coats in total depending on the material's porosity. Very absorbent materials (raw clay, sandstone) may need more coats. Allow touch-dry time (2-4 h) between each coat. The final coat defines the ultimate shine — use the Matte or Gloss finish according to the chosen variant.
- Curing and commissioning: after the last coat, allow 24 hours to cure before light foot traffic and 48-72 hours before normal use. From then on, clean like conventional stoneware with water and neutral detergent.
Do not apply on wet surfaces or at temperatures below +5°C. Tools should be cleaned with turpentine or white spirit immediately after use.

Matte or Gloss?
Matte: wet look effect with a very discreet satin finish — the most natural and recommended for rustic floors, clay, and terracotta where the goal is to intensify the color without adding shine. Gloss: wet look effect with a visible glossy finish — significantly enhances the color and depth of the material; ideal for hydraulic mosaic, slate, and dark stone where gloss boosts the decorative effect.
How much do I need?
Consumption varies greatly depending on the material's porosity. As a guideline: very porous baked clay ≈ 4–6 m²/L per coat; standard terracotta ≈ 6–8 m²/L; compact stone or hydraulic mosaic ≈ 8–10 m²/L. For 3 coats, a 1L container covers between 2 and 3 m² of very absorbent clay, and up to 3–4 m² of more compact stone.
Critical waiting times — do not skip
Applying on damp material or without respecting curing times is the main cause of problems (whitening, poor adhesion, irregular effect). New construction: wait 30 days (summer) / 60 days (winter). After water cleaning: wait 15 days (summer) / 30 days (winter). After tile adhesive: wait 4–5 days. Do not apply at temperatures below +5°C or on wet surfaces.
